What's the difference between Season & Camp/Clinic? Which one should I use?

There are two important distinguishing points between a Season and a Camp/Clinic as it pertains to the MySportSort software.

1. Registration Type:

- Camp/Clinic registration is only for individuals. You can only do a camp/clinic registration if you're having individuals register for a program

- Season registration can be for either individuals or teams

2. Date-Specific:

- The primary benefit of using a camp/clinic registration is that the customer must select which days that they are attending and their price will be reflected by their attendance. For example, you may have different price points if a customer registers for a single day, a single week or a full camp. You also will have different attendance each day or week and this will enable you to know who is coming every day, rather than expecting a consistent attendance list as you would in a season.

Below, we've included some scenarios in which we've outlined whether it would be best to set up a season or a camp.

Learn to Skate Program

Type: Season

Why: In order to graduate a learn to skate program, attendees need to attend all of their sessions, for whichever day of the week that they choose during registration. You're expecting your attendance list to be the same each week for that class. You could do it as a camp if you'd like, but there's not going to be any more benefit to doing so.

Weekly Skills Program

Type: Camp

Why: For an indefinite program that is more of an a la carte program, you may enable customers to register for individual classes rather than the full program. You may offer a discount for them registering for all classes. Regardless, this will enable you to offer flex pricing where they may have to pay $20/session or $100 for the full program. If they choose the full program, they'll be on the attendance list each day that the program is going. If they choose individual days, they'll only show up on the list for the days that they chose and they'll only be paying for those specific dates.

Parking Passes for scheduled events

Type: Camp

Why: To give your customers an option on whether they would like to select an individual product for one day or a grouping of products for selected scheduled days. Camps will allow your customers to select a quantity, they would like to purchase at different price points based on the quantity selected, where a season will be broken down into one set price.
