Setting a Season Limits for Teams, Players & Roster Limits

Modified on Thu, 26 Sep 2019 at 02:12 PM

When creating a new program for registration, you will be given the option to set a maximum number of teams, total participants or players per team. This will give you the flexibility to shut down a league or tournament for registration once your maximum number of teams has been reached, shut down program registration after your quota has been reached or limit the number of participants on any given roster.

1. Go to the Leagues and Seasons dropdown, selecting "Seasons and Tournaments," from the available menu.

2. On this page, you can either create a new season or edit an existing season - the process will be the same.

3. Once you have opened the season editor/creation page, you'll see your various options on the left hand side to choose from. The 6th option down on the left-side menu is Age/Team Restrictions. Choose that item where you'll be able to configure the season's age & roster restrictions.

4. On this page, you will see 3 options directly at the top of the page:

A. Maximum Teams Allowed in the Season:

This maximum number of teams will prevent customers from registering for your program once the max number has been reached. Employees will be able to override this manually if registering a team within the POS.

B. Maximum Players Allowed in the Season:

The max number of players will enable you to set a limit for a program that is open for individual registration. Think of a learn to skate or youth program that may be player registration only with a hard limit on participants. Once the max has been reached, online registration will no longer be available, although employees can manually override this when registering the POS, if needed.

C. Maximum Players Allowed per Team:

This will limit the total number of players allowed on a team. Whether it's a tournament or league where registrations are made by the team captain/coach for the entire team invoice or a program with multiple sessions available and a cap on max registrants, you can apply a maximum number before individual registration is no longer available for a specific team. Again, employees will be able to override this measure, but it will prevent customers from registering from programs that are over their set quota.

NOTE: You must set a default maximum number of players allowed per team in order to set team roster limits for that season.
